Precious moments fly away
Never to return again
In its wake lie wasted lives
Filled with deep regret and shame
So many moments wasted
As men strive for earthly gain
Like water running through our fingers
Disappearing down the drain
We can never more relive them
Can’t rewind the hands of time
We cannot change our yesterdays
We can’t rewrite one line
Oh that we could capture time
And lock it in a vacuum
Until we learn to treat it
As a rare and precious gem
Yet may experience teach us
That although we cannot change
The past, there’s still the present
To be lived and well arranged
