Value of Love

Love isn’t valued
By gifts that are bought
Nor by diamonds and roses
Though charming the thought

Love isn’t words
Though they’re nice to hear
As sweet endearments
So often bring cheer

Love is the essence
Of all of our being
And love is the beauty
That makes our hearts sing

Love is in giving
And doing our part
Love is the miracle
Within the heart

WITHOUT HIM

Without Him there is no beauty
Without Him there is no peace
Without Him there’s no contentment
Without Him there’s no release

Without Him there’s only darkness
Without Him there’s only strife
Without Him there’s only suffering
Without Him no eternal life

Without Him there’s no rejoicing
Without Him there is no love
Without Him there’s only sorrow
What if there was no God above

Don’t look at the face which is ravished by time

Don’t look at the face which is ravished by time
Or the hair which has faded to grey
Don’t look at the hands which are gnarled and red
or the limbs which hurt every day

Don’t look at the back which is stooped with age
Or the eyes which are no longer clear
Don’t look at the feet which shuffle along
Or the ears which can no longer hear

But look to the wisdom the years have wrought
The knowledge that will amaze
And look to the heart overflowing with love
And the spirit forever ablaze

When Evil Men Fear Greatly

When evil men fear greatly
They’re quick to call on God Most high
And use their mouths to flatter You
Their every word a lie

Their hearts remain unfaithful
To the Covenant made in love
Their hearts are never loyal
They simply want help from above

Then as soon as they’ve been rescued
And they’ve nothing left to fear
They forget about their promises
Not one do they hold dear

How much longer will You tolerate
All the evil men incurred
Before Your wrath fills all the earth
According to Your Word

Not Wanted

They’ve kicked You out of governments
They’ve kicked You out of schools
And even out of countries
Where Godless leaders rule

They’ve kicked You out of families
In the work place, You’re taboo
And blasphemy’s the only way
These people speak of You

Most schools deny You entrance
Evolution is their truth
And no-one understands
When scholars learn to be uncouth

Millions are the victims
Of abortion in this day
And assisted suicides
Are now the legal way

And yet when things go wrong
They’re quick to say: Where was God then
Then they become indignant
And give You all the blame

When will man learn to fear You
And revere Your holy Name
They want to take, but never give
And yet they have no shame

Love is Everything

Love is everything
The core of the universe
The substance of Heaven
The hope of God’s children

Love is the reason
That Christ gave His life
Love is the anchor
In life’s fiercest storm

Love is the miracle
Of a new birth
The door to eternity
Purchased by blood

Love is the source
Of all that is good
Love’s the fulfillment
Of all that God promised

Love is the healing stream
Man’s quest for righteousness
All these and more
For love is born of God

So Many Dreams

So many dreams of yesterday
Forever lost along the way
So many more not yet fulfilled
Though spiritually they’ve been instilled

Lord, You have not revealed to me
The visions I was blessed to see
My future is a mystery
I don’t know where You’re leading me

But this I know, You’ve given me
Prosperity ability
Now is the time to use that gift
Time for a major paradigm shift

And daily as I grow  in You
I know Your grace will see me through
Direct my footsteps, Lord, I pray
That I might walk in destiny’s way

Storm Clouds

Though storm clouds clothe the sky in gloom
Beyond them lies the sun
Though oft our lives seem worthless
There’s hope for everyone

Though oft’ our hearts are broken
There’s healing for each wound
The Healing balm of Gilead
To patch up lives once ruined

Though there is death around us
We’ve life abundantly
For Jesus took our sin away
Through death at Calvary

Swiftly the Years

Swiftly the years
Have passed me by
On gossamer wings
Unnoticed did fly

Many years
Have withered away
And a new dawn has broken
To herald the day

Many years
I’ve been given by grace
And many more promised
As I run this race

Much time has been wasted
And much time well spent
Of time that was wasted
My Lord, I repent

Swiftly the years
Still allotted to me
Will come to an end
And Your dear face I’ll see

May I use wisely
The time still decreed
Exalting Your name
Both in word and in deed

THE MESSENGER

A Dove once saved some soldiers
Surrounded by their foe
During a bloody battle
Many years ago

It was a soldier’s mascot
And it was their last hope
Of fetching re-enforcements
By delivering their note

The little dove flew bravely
Though wounded in it’s flight
With broken leg and crippled wing
Continued in its plight

At last, mortally wounded
It reached its journey’s end
And in its death saved many lives
This worthy little friend

The dove reminds me of Christ Jesus
Who left His Heavenly throne
Our lives were in His hands
He had to take the message Home

Though hacked and bruised and bleeding
And nailed upon a tree
Mortally wounded for our sins
He died to set us free

His message was delivered
I’ve paid the price of sin
My blood has washed man white as snow
Death has no hold on him
