Birds Sing Whenever a New Day Dawns

Birds sing whenever a new day dawns
And night creatures give voice every night
The trees of the field clap their hands in the breeze
And the sun touches all in its sight

Stars sparkle against the black canvas of night
They’re magnificent in their display
And the moon’s ever changing yet constant form
Softly shines to light up our way

What an awesome Creator, our God and King
To whom lightning and thunder bow down
He controls the formidable, raging sea
And the storm clouds which hide the sun

He sends the snow and the pouring rain
And the cold winds and the hurricanes
In His presence the earth quakes and splits in two
And tornadoes tear up the plains

And at His command the sun warms up the land
And the ice and the snow melt away
And flowers spring up and decorate fields
In a diverse colour display

No attention to detail was spared when God made
The earth and the Heavens above
From the tiniest life form to the greatest star
All was made in God’s perfect love

I See You in the Flowers

I see You in the flowers
In the fragrance of their smell
You are life’s fragrance unto me
And Lord I love You well

In the beauty of their colours
Which I’ve come to love so well
I see Your wondrous facets
Too fathomless to tell

I see You in their green leaves
For they speak of growth and life
They also speak of fellowship
And of abundant life

Myriad little raindrops

Myriad little raindrops
Glitter brightly in the sun
Little jewels on leaves and grass
Like diamonds every one

The clouds, gunmetal grey before
Are etched in silver snow
As sunbeams kiss them tenderly
And set them all aglow

And through the clouds, the azure sky
Peeps warmly from above
The birds fly up to greet her
And sing sweet songs of love

As I stand within my garden
In the early morning sun
I praise and thank You, Father
For a new day that’s begun

The Wheat Fields

The sun smiles on the wheat fields
Giving warmth to all the seeds
The clouds bring rain to water them
Supplying all their needs

The stalks appear in season
And reach toward the sun
Which draws them with its warmth and light
Until their work is done

At harvest time the reapers
With sickles in their hands
Gather up the golden wheat
That stands on fertile lands

Oh, Master of the harvest
In due season You’ll appear
To reap the golden fields of wheat
For which You paid so dear

THE WONDER OF NATURE

The dawning of a new day
The setting of the sun
The bright stars etched on black velvet
A night that’s just begun

The volcanoes, thunders, lightning
And the rainbow in the sky
Each has a special beauty
That is awesome to the eye

The sea in all its facets
And the desert’s shifting sand
The glaciers and volcanoes
That cascade upon the land

Are ever changing pictures
Painted by our God above
Always perfect, always different
Always wrought in utmost love

Life-giving Rain

The thunder roars: I love You, Lord
The Lightning flashes: Living Word
Rain gushes forth: Life giving Stream
The winds howl: You are God Supreme

The branches dance in ecstasy
Each blade of grass bows down its knee
The thirsty ground drinks gratefully
The birds and beasts rejoice in Thee

A rainbow soon appears above
A sign of God’s unfailing love
The raindrops glitter in the sun
Soon to return from where they come

Storm Clouds

Storm clouds gather dark and dismal
Thunder drowns the seagulls’ cries
Rain pours down in sudden fury
Lightning flashes in the skies

Rivers fill to overflowing
Causing floods upon the land
Hailstones pounding, causing havoc
Birds lie wounded on the sand

Once again the sun shines brightly
Softly blows the gentle breeze
Sparse clouds float by white and fluffy
Glossy calm the sapphire seas

Drinking nectar from the flowers
Swiftly fly the buzzing bees
Songs of praise to the God, our Father
Birds sing joyously in trees

When the Bright Twinkling Stars

When the bright twinkling stars have faded away
In the East the sun rises to herald the day
Then the flowers open their petals to peep
At the wonder of dawn as they’re roused from their sleep

The rooster cries boldly: It’s time to awake
And the white swans swim gracefully in the cool lake
As they search for breakfast of silvery fish
And the dog strains playfully against its leash

The little worms wiggle back into the ground
As the birds try to catch them and there’s the sweet sound
Of a nightingale singing a tune to its mate
And the mewing of kittens too greedy to wait

For their mother to feed them, but she hears their call
And climbs in the basket beside the white wall
A baby stirs softly and opens his eyes
And through a window he sees the blue skies

A red breasted Robin flies into the room
And perched on the cot, sings a gay little tune
The baby laughs sweetly, oh life is so grand
A new day controlled by the Master’s hand

Within Black Velvet Skies Above

Within black velvet skies above
The stars are on display
Like Sapphires of great brilliance
They softly light our way

The moon on the horizon
Casts a path across the sea
As she rises like a golden ball
Reflecting playfully

Waves crash against the solid rocks
And foam upon the shore
Then rush back to the depths again
Just to return once more

The sand is soft beneath our feet
A perfect place to pray
And give thanks to our God for all
This beauty on display

All Things Exist

All things exist because of Thee
The stars in every galaxy
The sun by day to give us light
The moon to shine for us each night

The raging winds, the pouring rains
The deserts vast, the fertile plains
The mountains, valleys and the seas
The leaves that rustle in the breeze

All that happens, You have planned
You have the world within Your hand
The earthquakes, tremors and the droughts
The rich, the poor, the layabouts

You take the clay out of the fields
To wet and trample till it yields
And when the clay has been abased
You mold the vessel to Your taste
