Don’t Touch the Character of Man

Don’t touch the character of man
No gentler than a knife in hand
The great destruction that you reap
By idle words that you might speak

Man’s character is like pure gold
And when in spite you would unfold
His errors then you pierce his heart
With evil words that you impart

You argue that your words are true
And what you say is nothing new
But do men’s sins give you the right
To judge and gossip in God’s sight

Beware, the things you sow, you’ll reap
Malicious words cut very deep
When someone tries to rise above
His errors, rather show him love

Don’t Be Content

Don’t be content with only half
Make sure your lamps contain
As much as they are meant to hold
From foolishness refrain

For when the Bridegroom’s voice is heard
You’ll need a bright, strong flame
You cannot follow in the dark
You’ll have yourself to blame

Don’t trade your oil for riches
Please handle it with care
Without it you can’t enter in
Won’t be enough to share

Worship

Worship is more than getting lost in GOD’S presence, although that is wonderful and I, for one, wouldn’t change that for the world. However, I believe that a higher form of worship is a life-style. It’s the way we think, speak and act every moment of our lives. It’s the way we respond to injustice, to pain, to trials and persecution and to temptation. It’s loving what GOD loves and hating what GOD hates. It’s the unconditional giving of ourselves to GOD, fully trusting Him to complete the work that He has begun in us. Jesus has already given Himself irrevocably, unwaveringly, to us.

Of course, none of us are perfect, so we are sure to mess up at times and that’s okay. GOD is quick to lend a helping hand at those times. Instead of concentrating on the negative, we should stay focused on the times we get it right. It is at those times that our worship is bringing GOD the highest glory.

Did You seize the Moment

Did you seize the moment
For someone in need
Or were you too self-centered
Or too filled with greed

Would seizing the moment
Take up too much time
Take you out of your way
If you chose to be kind

If you say you’re a Christian
You’d best walk the talk
Love’s not just lip service
Don’t just talk the walk

Clothed With the Sun

Clothed with the sun
The radiant bride
Her tiara twelve stars
She stands at God’s side

The moon at her feet
Eyes soft as a dove
She looks at her Bridegroom
In worship and love

She portrays His reflection
In her eager face
Shining in beauty
In love, peace and grace

Chosen People Loved and Holy [inspired by Col.3:12-17]

Chosen people, loved and holy
Clothe yourselves with gentleness
Add compassion, kindness, patience
And forgive all grievances

Wear humility and kindness
Over all of these wear love
This will bind them all together
Fitting like a hand in glove

Let the peace of God rule in you
For you have been called to peace
And be thankful to the Father
Who has given you increase

Let the Word of Christ dwell in you
Richly and not just in part
Teach and reprimand each other
With all wisdom from the heart

Glorify the Lord with singing
Praises from a grateful heart
Do all in the name of Jesus
Giving thanks unto our God

Children, You are Sons of God

Children, you are sons of God
Know you not you’re gods
Where are the subjects we must rule
Within you, children, don’t be fooled

Rule over flesh, you’re spirit born
You’re not part of this world
Would you be ruled by gods unchaste
Go out and conquer them in haste

Carnality ruled over you
And demons had you bound
But I have set you free and placed
Your feet on higher ground

Word of encouragement based on 1Peter 1:69

Blessed be the GOD and Father of our Lord Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of GOD through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honour, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen, you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith – the salvation of your souls.
1Peter 1:6-9
Even as a pearl is not formed without extreme pain and a diamond is not formed without extreme pressure for a season, that at the time seems unbearable and unending, we also need to go through trials that bring pain and pressure so that we can come forth as precious jewels before the Father. Even as gold and silver are refined by fire, so we too go through fiery trials so that all the dross of sin that so easily beset us is destroyed and we come forth as pure gold in the Father’s care.
Some may say that we were made righteous through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross when He who knew no sin, was made sin for us. That is indeed true of our spirits which once were dead in sin and now are alive and seated in heaven with the Father. However, our minds were not instantly purified, although many traits may have left on the day we were saved. Our minds are constantly being transformed by reading the Bible and drawing closer to GOD through prayer and worship by faith and by trials which bring growth and teach us to stand, having done all to stand, against the perpetual onslaughts of the powers, principalities and spiritual wickedness in high places. We are in a constant spiritual war and our minds are the battleground. The enemies’ swords are always sharp and we therefore need to keep our swords in mint condition by speaking in line with the Word of GOD when negative thoughts try to invade our minds. Whenever we speak words contrary to the Word, another battle is won by the enemy of our soul.
Children of the Most High GOD, don’t ever give up, no matter what life throws at you. At times you will grow weary in the battle and at times you might cry in frustration and pain. When you do, look up. GOD has prepared a table for you in the midst of your enemies. There is a spread consisting of bread and wine, of milk and honey, and of nine sweet fruits of the Spirit. Rest a while and eat your fill so that you might regain your strength to carry on. The battle will soon be over. The KING is coming!

Change Woeful Tears to Laughter

Change woeful tears to laughter
And heartaches into joy
Your cruel deeds into kindness
All evil thoughts destroy

Change foolishness to wisdom
And restlessness to peace
Change pride into humility
Rebelliousness make cease

Change hatred to compassion
And loathing into love
So that the world may know you are
The children of above

Jesus ANSWERED the fig tree.

Jesus ANSWERED the fig tree.
Q 1] What did it say to Him?
2] What was He reacting to?
Everything speaks to us: Our circumstances, our obstacles, & our challenges.
Science has proven that everything consists of sound waves and that different objects emit different sounds.

EVERYTHING speaks.
Ever seen the look of hopelessness in a child’s face or, for that matter, the look of pure joy? Fear speaks to us and if we do not know how to react to it, it will overtake us.
The fig tree was saying it had no fruit for Jesus. No tasty fruit, nor even green, hard figs; nor overripe, nor even rotten ones.
Luke 13:9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
Jesus cursed the tree because it bore no fruit. As long as we abide in the Vine we will bear much fruit without even trying.
It had borne nothing at all. Like a tree, we too must bear fruit.
John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
If we do not abide in the Father’s love, we will not bear fruit
John 15:2 Every branch in me that bears not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that bears fruit, he purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit. John 15:6  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Our lip service has little worth if our words are not accompanied by our actions. I am not referring to good works in order to earn God’s love. Rather, I am referring to an overflow of the love of God in us which manifests as fruit. When the fruits first appear, they are tiny, but as they are continually fed by the Vine, they steadily grow into ripe succulent fruit, fit for the Master’s use. It is not our words that speak the loudest, but rather our fruit, or lack of fruit. Luke 6:44  For every tree is known by his own fruit.

John 3:5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.John 3:6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hates the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:20 For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
John 3:21 But he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Salvation is not assured by answering an altar call because of fear of going to hell and then going on your merry old way without giving the commitment you’ve made at the altar a second thought. It must be accompanied by a decision to follow Jesus.
All that God ever wanted from us is to love Him above all else and to love one another as we love ourselves. Jesus knew when He gave us these commandments that it would be a work in progress. He also knew that continually abiding in Him would result in us manifesting this love. We cannot love in this way of our own accord. It is God’s love flowing through us. Even as the fruit is dependant on the vine for life giving nourishment, we are dependant on the true Vine in the same way.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
John 14:24 He that does not love me, does not keep my sayings: and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

Keep abiding in the Vine. Stay in His love and He will take you from glory to glory as you keep your eyes on the One who loves you with a perfect, everlasting love.
