Was Ever Any Friend so True

Was ever any friend so true
Was any man so faithful
Was anyone so full of love
Was even one so stable

Unchanging through the changing years
His love is sure and strong
Though other loves may change their minds
And often do you wrong

His arms are always opened wide
When you need loving care
He’ll never turn His back on you
Nor leave you standing there

Love is The Key

Love is the key to Heaven’s door
Without Love you can’t enter in
Love is forgiveness and Love endures
Love overcomes vile sin

Love is the Destroyer of fear and doubt
Love is an anchor so sure
Love is a Lighthouse in stormy seas
Love is the greatest cure

Love is compassionate, love seeks the lost
Seeks out the desolate soul
Love is the healer of broken hearts
Love touches and makes them whole

Love hears the faintest of whispers
Prayed in the midst of a storm
Love loves the unlovable outcast
And keeps him safe from harm

Love is the Giver of good things
Love loves the young and the old
Love embraces the lost sheep
And leads them into the fold

The Soldiers

How cruel the crown of bitter thorns
The soldiers shoved upon Your head
How blasphemous and foolish they
Who mocked and laughed as blood flowed red

And when You groaned in agony
As the lash ripped to the bone
Did the soldiers feel excitement
Were their hearts as hard as stone

When the soldiers bashed the hammers
On the nails repeatedly
Which tore right through Your hands and feet
Did they do so laughingly

Did any of the blood they shed
Spill onto them that dreadful day
And if so, did the soldiers curse
And wash Your precious blood away

And when a soldier took a spear
And pierced it deeply in Your side
To find You were already dead
Did he think his work justified

But one soldier standing near You
Heard Your cry and saw You die
And realized You ‘re the Son of God
Did he repent then, did he cry

The World Cries Freedom

In this modern age where freedom
Is the cry throughout the earth
Woman’s rights remove the rights of babes
Who haven’t come to birth

China’s rights to communism
Overrule the right to teach
The beauty of the Gospel
They keep Bibles out of reach

Many people jailed and tortured
Inhumane, atrocities
Perpetrated against Christians
Because of their beliefs

In Uganda millions martyred
By Islamic radicals
Many more forced into slavery
For being in God’s will

Christians killed by their own families
In Islamic countries still
Islamic rulers like Bin Laden shout
Death to the infidels

In the Australia gay rights remove
The Christians’ rights to preach
The unadulterated truth
The Word is called hate speech

But more stupefying the people
Who have Bibles of their own
Collecting dust upon the shelf
In many of our homes

They still have freedom of religion
Yet they turn their backs on God
Defame, blaspheme, and curse Him
Make a mockery of the Lord

On the right a people
Whose priority is God’s will
On the left those who despise Him
And to death will hate God still

In the middle, there’s another group
Lost, living in despair
Who need a light to guide them
To a loving God who cares

Wake up Christian warriors
Leave passivity behind
Strive to bring in all the lost sheep
We are running out of time

We Live in a World

We live in a world that has gone insane
Where anything goes and no-one’s blame
Where drugs are a part of everyday life
Where alcoholism and crime run rife

We live in a world of vice and of shame
Where children suffer abuse, rape and pain
Homosexuals get married and we have gay priests
Prostitution’s now legal and on the increase

We live in a world of monstrous men
Of poverty, famine and wars and mayhem
Where the unborn are legally murdered these days
By highly paid doctors in terrible ways

We live in a world of chaos and need
Of envy and hate and insatiable greed
Where people want power, great riches and fame
Where they trample on others these things to gain

We live in a world that is cruelly debased
By oil spills, exhaust fumes and toxic waste
Where forests are wiped out and beasts are extinct
Where people are used for experiments

Where God’s Word is called hate speech
God’s children enslaved
While their families are massacred
In Muslim raids

We live in a world that was given in love
Once perfect and good by our Father above
To nurture, respect and to rule righteously
In wisdom, compassion and purity

We live in a world steeped in witchcraft so vile
Where Satan is worshiped and God is reviled
We live in a world that is cursed through our sin
Is this the world we would give back to Him

Is Anything too Hard for God

Is anything too hard for God
One thing He cannot do
Is anything beyond His power
He makes all things anew

No demon power can conquer Him
They tried on Calvary
But they just couldn’t keep Him down
He rose in victory

There’s none can pluck you from His hand
Once He has set you free
None of His children are cast out
He paid the price, you see

Just give Him all the love you can
He’s given all for you
In Him you’ll go from strength to strength
In everything you do

Jesus is Compassionate

Jesus is compassionate
He will not turn away
He wants the very best for us
Just call on Him today

Jesus is omniscient
He knows our every need
He will not leave us desolate
Because we are His seed

Jesus is almighty
He is our Warrior King
He’ll win our every battle
If we’d just turn to Him

Love Does not Gossip

Love does not gossip
Is never unkind
Love does not envy
And love isn’t blind

Love is forgiving
Love’s patient and strong
Not boastful, nor proud
Keeps no record of wrong

Love isn’t self-seeking
Self-centered, or rude
Not easily angered
Love always does good

Love never slanders
Love covers all sin
Love does not cause discord
Love does not wear thin

Love joys not in evil
Rejoices in truth
Prefers one another
Is never uncouth

Love always protects
Trusts, hopes, perseveres
Love never fails
And Love never fears

There Walks a Man

There walks a man so wonderful
So merciful and good
He talks about the Father
Gives five thousand people food

He gives sight to the blind man
The dumb He makes to talk
He heals the dying lepers
He lets the crippled walk

He loves the little children
He holds them tenderly
He tells them of the Scriptures
As they sit upon His knee

He casts out countless demons
He’s even raised the dead
But now He walks to Calvary
For He’ll die in our stead

His love is so immense that He
Will give His precious life
To save this wretched sinful world
He’ll be the sacrifice

His back is torn and bleeding
His mouth is parched and dry
He falls beneath the heavy cross
But utters not one cry

How can they let Him suffer so
And mock and jeer at Him
They don’t realize that His torment
Will save them from their sin

He’s had no sleep, nor food, nor drink
He’s weak, His pain is great
They’ve tortured Him in jealousy
They feel such vicious hate

The soldiers drive a nail into each hand
And through His feet
They lift the cross, His body jars
His followers all weep

Above His head a scroll is placed
The words thereon are clear
THE KING OF THE JEWS, it reads
‘Was placed there as a jeer

The words are true, but they don’t know
That He’s the King of all
He asks for water, but they give Him
Vinegar and gall

Come down from the cross
If You’re the Son of God, they shout
He prays, then bows His head and dies
And yet the soldiers doubt

They pierce His side and blood and water
Flow out of that wound
He cannot hang much longer
For twill be the Sabbath soon

The Earth grows dark and trembles
Rocks roll down the mountain side
Even nature mourns because
The Lord was crucified

Blessed are the Men and Women [Inspired by Ps 112:2-7 & 1Chron.21:12]

Blessed are the men and women who reverence the Lord
Who walk daily in His Spirit, delighting in His Word
Their descendants will excel in everything they do
The generation of the upright will be blessed each day anew

Riches and honour reside within their home
Given to them by the Father, all these come from Him alone
Theirs is righteousness forever for the blood has set them free
Even in the darkness, they’ve the Light of victory

They’re people of compassion, they are gracious and upright
They are generous, lending freely, in God’s favour they delight
Their affairs they guide with justice; they’re not shaken in their faith
Their hearts are steadfast when bad news comes, trusting in the Father’s grace
