Good Friday

Horrific day, yet wondrous day
When Jesus took our place
I see His awful agony
And tears stream down my face

My sorrow wounds me like a sword
Pierced deep into my soul
But gratitude then floods my being
For His death made me whole

And every year, upon this day
It seems that nature mourns
The way it did the day that Jesus
Bore the crown of thorns

Skies darken and the rain pours down
As nature cries in pain
The sun still hides its face
The way it did to hide His shame

But soon it will be Sunday
And the sun will shine again
In celebration of His life
For He arose again

Storm Clouds

Storm clouds gather dark and dismal
Thunder drowns the seagulls’ cries
Rain pours down in sudden fury
Lightning flashes in the skies

Rivers fill to overflowing
Causing floods upon the land
Hailstones pounding, causing havoc
Birds lie wounded on the sand

Once again the sun shines brightly
Softly blows the gentle breeze
Sparse clouds float by white and fluffy
Glossy calm the sapphire seas

Drinking nectar from the flowers
Swiftly fly the buzzing bees
Songs of praise to the God, our Father
Birds sing joyously in trees

No temptation has seized you

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And GOD is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. When you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand under it.
1Cor. 10:13
There is nothing that you and GOD cannot face together. Hold onto His unchanging hand and know that you are never alone. He will never leave you, nor forsake you. You are as precious to our Father GOD as Jesus is. What a mighty, awesome GOD we serve.

May the GOD of Hope Fill You with All JOY

May the GOD of HOPE fill you with all JOY and PEACE as you TRUST in Him, so you may OVERFLOW with HOPE by the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT.
[Rom. 15:13]
In a world filled with turmoil, corruption, crime, illnesses and disease to name but a few dark attributes of a fallen world, all of life seems hopeless to many people stumbling around in darkness with no light to see.
It is only when we reach toward the Light of the World, our precious Lord Jesus Christ, and trust in His omnipotent power to save, deliver and heal that we are filled with all joy and peace even in the midst of trials and temptations. It is only in keeping our eyes on the Most High GOD while the storms of life rage around us, that we are able to overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is by His power that we are delivered, saved, healed and able to overcome all the wiles of the evil one and his minions.
Peter walked on water till he turned his eyes from Jesus and considered the storm. It was already storming when he stepped out of the boat, but as long as he kept his eyes above the circumstances and focused on our Saviour nothing could stand in his way.
We are not to consider the storms that come our way, but to rather consider the One who stilled the storm. The very storms that were sent to break us, lose their power and end up making us stronger each time we face one of them.
The Word never said that we would not have trials and temptations on the road
of life, but it did say that He would not leave us nor forsake us. In His power we are more than conquerors.
Grace to you and peace from GOD our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

I will sing of the mercies

I will sing of the mercies
Of the LORD, my GOD forever
With my mouth I will make known
The One who is my greatest treasure
You are greatly to be praised
And held in reverence by Your own
Righteousness and justice
Are the basis of Your throne
Your faithfulness surrounds You
Truth and mercy pave Your way
The mighty sea and waves obey You
And deep darkness turns to day
All creation bows before You
None can stand against Your might
All Your enemies flee before You
GOD of power and of Light

Phillipians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.
[Phil. 4:8]
When we lose focus on the good things and concentrate on the bad, our joy and peace in the LORD are the first things to flee from us.
It is so much better to think on positive, Godly things, than to think on negative things which cause fear, anger, pain or bitterness. Many sleepless nights are avoided this way. It is so much better to live in a way that overcomes the wiles of the wicked one and leaves us content and joyful.

When Someone Betrays Me

When someone betrays me or slanders my name
Or gossips and spreads lies again and again
Teach me to be kind and to pray for that one
That You will forgive her for all she has done

 When someone reviles me or spits in my face
Insults or torments me, Lord give me the grace
To bless and forgive and to do what is right
To respond out of love, not react out of spite

 When I am threatened or sworn at or hurt
Or hated, abused, let me trust in Your Word
Let your love fill my heart and Your grace flood my being
Let Your light shine through me and Your glory be seen

FATHER, REIGN WITHIN MY HEART

Father, reign within my heart
Please let Your Kingdom come
And take control of all of me
Lord, let Your will be done

And, Lord, if I should start to stray
In thought or word or deed
Please take my hand and lead me home
And cleanse me, Lord, I plead

There’s None can Snatch Me from GOD’S Hand

 

There’s none can snatch me from GOD’S hand
Though my demise the enemy planned
Whom the Son sets free is free indeed
The devil’s wiles I will not heed

 Through fire and water I have come
The devil’s plans failed one by one
In the midst of the valley of the shadow of death
GOD laid me a table and gave me rest

 Greater the One who lives in my heart
Than all the armies that hell could impart
If GOD be for me then whom shall I fear
Though the world turns against me, His love draws me near

 With His Word as my sword and faith as my shield
Where He leads I will follow for my life I yield
To my Saviour, Deliverer, Father and King
For He is my first love, He’s my everything
