Before Earth Was Created

Before Earth was created
Or her boundaries were defined
God looked down through the ages
Across the span of time

He saw a world in chaos
Through the ravages of sin
He saw the evil in man’s heart
And sought man’s heart to win

So from Earth’s foundation
God sought to make a way
To free us from the sting of death
And sin that held us sway

God knew He’d have to give His Son
To be the offering
For Christ alone was worthy to
Redeem us from our sin

Because of sin we couldn’t stand
Before God’s holy throne
And animals were sacrificed
Man’s evil to atone

But their blood could only cover
Never wash away our sin
Though all the blood of beasts
Could fill whole rivers to the brim

First blood shed was in Eden
When the man and woman fell
God clothed them both in blood soaked skins
To save their lives from Hell

And since that time till Jesus
A scarlet ribbon ran
Until the perfect sacrifice
Was offered up for man

And now on Heavens mercy seat
In the Most Holy Place
The blood of Christ is sprinkled
For mankind by God’s grace

If You Teach Your Child

If you teach your child
From a tender age
To trust in
The Father above

You’ll be sowing seeds
Of eternal life
And the seeds
Of eternal love

If you bend the branch
While the tree is young
It will yield
To your loving hand

And when it has grown to
A tree big and strong
It will be in the shape
That you planned

A tree left unkempt
To grow as it will
Will not yield to your touch
Once it’s grown

And try as you may
It can no longer bend
Too long it was left
On its own

We were made Righteous

We were made righteous when Jesus was made sin.

On that memorable day, while our Saviour hung on the cross in agony, His body wracked with pain and weakened by the terrible torture and blood loss, the skies darkened as fallen angels filled the air. Every demonic force in the universe congregated above Golgotha and the surrounding areas. Each one of them was excited, eager and willing to bombard the holy, sinless body of Jesus with their filth of sin. They knew that He was exhausted and in acute pain, thirsty and sapped of physical strength. They had waited to destroy the seed of the woman for four thousand years. They had killed all the prophets in an effort to get rid of the Chosen One. Now was their time, they reasoned among themselves. Surely with such a brutal attack they would cause Him to sin. Surely He would curse GOD and die. After all, how could one man stand against the entire kingdom of Hell, especially in such a weakened state?

For three hours they bombard Jesus. Sin, condemnation, selfishness, covetousness, idol worship, foul language, lies, deceit, adultery, theft, murder, hatred, confusion, gossip, backbiting, pride, death,………The attack went on for what must have seemed like an eternity to Jesus, until He cried out in despair, “My GOD, My GOD, why have You forsaken me?” For the first time in His life, He couldn’t address GOD as Father. He had taken our place, taken all of our sin upon Him. He could no longer feel the presence of GOD, because the thick, evil darkness covered Him. He was experiencing separation from GOD. This was something Jesus had never before experienced. He and His Father had always lived in complete unity. Jesus had never sinned. Hell was incapable manipulating Him to sin, but the punishment for our sin was upon Him. After the demons had poured out every conceivable sin within them upon Jesus, the demons left, and the skies cleared.

Jesus then shouted with a loud voice, “It is finished! He was proclaiming that the debt had been paid in full. Immediately after, Jesus bowed His head and said, “Father, into Your hands I commit my spirit.” and died. Jesus couldn’t die by human hands, as He had never sinned and the punishment for sin is death. He had to choose to lay down His life.

We cannot become more righteous than we are by works. We cannot add to the finished work of the cross. We are already made the righteousness of GOD and that not of our own effort. The closer we draw to Jesus, the more our righteousness becomes visible, as it begins to shine more brightly through the veil of our flesh. We will continuously go from brighter to brighter, from strength to strength and from glory to glory as we keep our eyes and hearts on the precious, unadulterated Word of GOD until His perfect image is fully revealed in us. All glory, honour and strength be to our GOD forever and ever. Amen.

Be Christ centered not Church centered

Be Christ centered, not Church centered
Have communion that is true
Give of self to one another
Have one vision: Christ in You

Operate in full obedience
Do His will, for that is right
Vision will give you resilience
When you’re wounded in the fight

Full obedience will bring healing
It will bring maturity
Be prepared for transformation
Don’t accept conformity

Don’t condemn a fallen brother
But invest in love and care
Identifying with his weakness
And his burdens gladly share

Inspired by Ps 113:5-8

Who is like the LORD our GOD, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth? He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; He seats them with princes, with the princes of their people. He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children.
Praise the LORD. Psalm 113::5-8

Our GOD who is omnipotent, whose throne is above the heavens and earth, who stoops down to look upon this entire universe, knows each of us by name and even knows the number of hairs on our heads. This omniscient GOD sees everything at a glance, even the smallest life form deep within the earth and in the depths of the seas. He sees the hidden tears shed in silence and hears them when they fall. There is nowhere too dark for His light to penetrate, nor too distant for him to see. This omnipresent GOD is with each one of us, seeing our strengths and our weaknesses, our darkest deeds and our deepest desires. There is nothing hidden from His sight. He sees the needs of the homeless and the needy who trust in Him and provides them with food and shelter. He lifts them out of their world of hopelessness and sets their feet on solid ground. He hears the cries of the barren woman who trusts in Him and makes her a happy mother of children.

Our GOD alone is worthy of all praise. Bless His holy Name.

Appreciate the Father’s Gifts

Appreciate the Father’s gifts
They’re given with much love
They’re chosen with the greatest care
These treasures from above

These gifts are known as talents
Because they bring increase
Whenever they are rightly used
Their value will not cease

Don’t bury any talents
Each talent that you share
Brings countless joy to others
And shows them that you care

For every talent given
By the Father’s loving hand
You’ll have to give account for
When before His throne you stand

The Rider on a White Horse [Inspired by Rev 19:11-21]

I saw the Heavens open
And a white horse galloping
Upon it sits a rider
Faithful and True, King of kings

His eyes are flames of fire
On His head are many crowns
Shouts of Hallelujah,
Omnipotent GOD who reigns, resound

In righteousness He judges
And makes war against the foe
His robes are dipped in blood
A written Name that no-one knows

Behind him rides His army
On white horses, their array
Is of fine linen, white and clean
The redeemed of God are they

His Name is called The Word of God
Out of His mouth goes forth
A sharp-edged sword to strike the nations
In the fury of His wrath

He wears a garment dipped in blood
The winepress has been trod
It is the wine of anger and of wrath
Of our great God

On His thigh is written
King of Kings and Lord of Lords
The destruction of earth’s armies
Have been wrought by His swift sword

She Touched the Hem of Jesus

She broke so many laws the day
That Jesus passed her way
Twelve years her menstruation
Had kept her locked away

Twelve years she stayed in bondage
As she bled from day to day
Not allowed to be in public
Isolated every way

She could not brush against, nor touch men
For they would be defiled
She knew to break the law meant death
But she was dead inside

Then hope sprang forth when Jesus came
That she could live again
Free from the curse that plagued her life
She’d never be the same

So desperately she faced the crowd
Hope stronger than her fear
And pushed through so that she could touch
The Lord as He drew near

Then reaching out, she touch the hem
Of His tallit by faith
Immediately her bleeding stopped
As she was healed by grace

Who touched me? Jesus said aloud
As He felt some power deplete
And trembling in great fear she came
And fell at Jesus feet

And as she told Him everything
And bared her very soul
He answered: Daughter, go in peace
Your faith has made you whole

We’re not healed by our good works
What Jesus seeks is faith
Through faith our sins will fall away
As we walk in His grace

All Vengeance Belongs to our God

All Vengeance belongs
To our God
Both reward and recompense
Are in His hand

It’s not up to us
To retaliate when slighted
But to overlook the wrong
And understand

It’s our glory to forgive
Those who revile us
It’s our glory to give love
Where hate abounds

Through compassion to bring glory
To the Father
It’s our glory to bring peace
Where strife surrounds

1Thesselonians 2:14-15 in Poetic Form

We speak as men approved of God
And trusted with His Word
Not trying to please men, but God
By Whom our hearts are stirred

We do not speak with flattery
And neither wear a mask
To cover greed or any sin
Your praise we do not ask

We encourage, comfort, urge you
As a father would his child
To live holy, righteous, blameless
To live worthy, undefiled

We thank God that you received
The Word of God within
That through trials and persecution
You stood steadfastly in Him
