I Reached for the Stars

I reached for the stars
In the Heavens above
My Saviour waited
With patience and love

I chased after rainbows
They disappeared
My cry of frustration
My Saviour heard

I tried to hold sunbeams
They passed through my hand
My Saviour watched sadly
I wept in the sand

I tried to turn back
The hands of time
My Saviour stood by me
In love divine

I sought things eternal
Oh! Sweet ecstasy
My Saviour is granting
These things unto me

Broken Hearted and Forlorn

Broken hearted and forlorn
Lost in a world of sin
Defiled, my garment torn and stained
I cried out unto Him

He listened to my anguished plea
Reached out His loving hand
To lift me from the stony ground
To cause my feet to stand

His loving waters quenched my thirst
His manna fed my soul
His arms of love enfolded me
His Spirit made me whole

Praise the Lord From the Heavens {Inspired by Ps148]

Praise GOD from the heavens
Praise the Good Lord from the heights
Praise the Lord all you angels
In the power of His might

Praise the Lord all Heaven’s armies
Praise the Captain of the Hosts
Who leads His children into battle
In Whose victory we can boast

Praise the good Lord sun and moon
And brilliant stars of light
Praise Him, you Heaven of heavens
For the Lord is our Delight

Praise Him you waters in the clouds
Which bring life giving rain
Praise the Good Lord from the earth
All life praise Jesus’ Name

Praise the Lord God from the earth
Mounts, hills and fruitful trees
All you creatures from the depths
Praise GOD within the seas

Praise GOD, you beasts and cattle
Creeping things and all that fly
Praise GOD rodents and amphibians
And reptiles where you lie

Praise God, hail, snow and hurricanes
He created you each one
And established you forever
And His law can’t be undone

Praise God all you rulers
Young and old, praise God on High
His glory is above the Heavens
And His Name above the sky

Keep Me in the Hour of Temptation

Keep me from the hour
Of temptation, Lord I pray
Keep my eyes on You, Lord
Never let me go astray

Keep me when I’m yearning
For the things not meant for me
Keep me when I want to turn
To things which should not be

Keep me bound by chains of love
Lord, may Your will prevail
Reign in my heart unending
For in You I will not fail

If You Would Search My Heart Today

If You would search my heart today
And keep me in the narrow way
Then, Father, in return I’ll be
A light for the whole world to see

You know I strive for righteousness
To have Your peace and gentleness
Your great compassion, wisdom, grace
Your love to shine within my face

And, Lord, to be as kind as You
To have Your understanding too
To guard my mouth, quick to defend
Not utter things which do offend

If You would teach me to be wise
In situations that arise
I’d never bring reproach on You
In anything I say or do

I Love You Daddy God, it’s true

I love You, Daddy God it’s true
Please mold my heart to be like You
Your image, Lord, in me display
In all I do and all I say

Make my character like You
Fixed, predictable and true
May Your essence flood my being
And may I live beneath Your wing

Make me reflect in darkest night
The image of Your glorious Light
And may the choices that I make
Be wise and Godly for my sake

May all I think and say and do
Be always pleasing, Lord, to You
That everyone I meet might see
The glory of my God in me

As I Climb Your Holy Mountain

As I climb Your holy mountain
Guide me safely on the way
May my armour of protection
Keep me from all harm, I pray

Make my shield of faith effective
When the arrows come my way
May my hand not be unwieldy
When I use the sword, I pray

May my enemies be scattered
Keep my feet on solid ground
Make each obstacle a stepping stone
As I am upward bound

Help me reach the covert plateau
Of faith, hope and charity
Then help me climb still higher
To the pinnacle with Thee

In the garden of Your Spirit
Lead me to the Tree of life
May I eat its fruit so tasty
May the fruit thereof suffice

Love that’s pure and unconditional
I want inside of me
Humility and wisdom
And perfect faith in Thee

Poem to a Bride

Shimmering white dress of an angel
Lace and satin, glorious sight
Like facets of a myriad diamonds
Glimmering in the morning light

Wide and lustrous, soft and flowing
Fitting snugly at the waist
Sparkling pearls and diamantes
In the dress and train encased

Shining blonde hair, flowing freely
Rosy cheeks, lips full and red
Bubbling over with excitement
Knowing soon she will be wed

She seems to float up to the altar
Where her bridegroom waits with pride
In love they stare at one another
And their joy they cannot hide

In my heart a prayer I utter
Be their Centre night and day
Through the good times and the bad times
Be the Light that guides their way

In Joy I Kneel Before Your Throne

In joy I kneel before Your throne
And humbly I lay down
My offerings of praise and thanks
Upon Your holy ground

Teach me, Lord, how to receive
All that Your have in store
I know there’s more than I can grasp
My GOD whom I adore

Teach me to speak the truth I pray
When trials come crashing down
For nothing evil can remain
When I’m on solid ground

Teach me to speak Your promises
That darkness tries to hide
To stand when I’ve done all to stand
And stay close to my side

Teach me to speak the finished work
Of cross and death and life
To spread the good News to the world
Of our Lord Jesus Christ
